Many people worldwide suffer from foot problems that interfere with their activities of daily living. It is therefore important to be able to evaluate and assess foot posture to identify factors that may cause or lead to abnormal foot posture that are causing or may cause foot and or lower limb dysfunctions.* Standardised methods to evaluate foot posture can lead to a better understanding and evaluation of abnormal foot posture and to choose appropriate treatment methods.
At Du Toit Orthopaedics we take care in doing a proper foot evaluation before manufacturing a pair of foot orthotics.
Foot orthotics or innersoles are devices that fit into a shoe to help maintain alignment or to alleviate pressure in certain areas. Innersoles are manufactured according to the patients anatomy. Foot orthotics are used to treat various foot conditions.
We take care in doing a proper foot assessment to assess what the underlying causes are. A plaster of Paris cast is then taken of the patients foot and the innersoles are manufactured according to the cast.
We use different materials to manufacture our innersoles to fit each individuals need.
